About Jim Fisher

Br. Fisher is the former Vice-Dean and Marcel Desautels Chair in Entrepreneurship of the Joseph L. Rotman School of Management. He is now a Professor Emeritus of the University of Toronto who continues to teach at the Rotman School.

Br. Fisher joined Alpha Delta Phi in 1960 and served as Vice-President of the Chapter in his final year. He graduated from the University of Toronto with a BA in political science and economics and from Harvard University with an MBA. Jim Fisher worked with McKinsey & Company before becoming a co-founder of The Canada Consulting Group, which eventually merged with The Boston Consulting Group. He joined George Weston Limited in 1986 and served as Executive Vice President of Weston Foods, Chairman and President of William Neilson Limited and President of George Weston North American Bakeries.

He joined Rotman in 1998 where he developed the School’s first course on leadership. Voted four times "Teacher of the Year" by the second year class, he teaches leadership, strategy and organization design in the MBA, EMBA and Executive Development Programs.

He is the author of The Thoughtful Leader: A Model of Integrative Leadership

Br. Rahilly is a former Vice Chairman of RBC Capital Markets with 30 years of experience in Investment Banking. He has served as Chair of the Trinity College Board of Trustees, Director of George Weston Ltd.,and Co-Chair of the Faculty of Law Building Campaign. Upon graduation from the University and Fraternity in 1966 he returned to complete his LLB and MA at UofT. He was recognized in 2008 with the Arbor Award for his outstanding contributions to the University of Toronto.

About the Speaker: Robert Wright, Q.C., C.M., is a leading Canadian financial and legal executive. He joined the Alpha Delta Phi in 1951, and served as Chapter President in his final year. He was a Gold Medalist recipient from Osgoode Hall Law School’s graduating class of 1961. From 1989-1993 he served as Chairman of the Ontario Securities Commission and in 1997 he was appointed a Member of the Order of Canada. He has also served as the Chairman of Teck Corporation and the Toronto Port Authority, counsel to Lang Michener, and has been a Director on the Boards of Pathways to Education, the University of Toronto, Toronto Western Hospital, and Lyndhurst Hospital.
